Biography

(Anna) Alpha Domenica de Venetia was born at Sciacca, Provincia di Girgenti, Kingdom of Sicily, "heri," 27 9bre (November) 1652, daughter of Giuseppe Venezia and Calogera [Scaduto], and was baptized in Matrice parish, 28 9bre (November) 1652; her sponsors were Gaspare Cannella and Francesca Perricani.[1] Ninpha uxor qdm Michaeli Vetrano alias Garaglione was buried in Matrice parish, Sciacca, 30 9bre (November) 1702, aged about 43: "Ninpha uxor qdm Michaeli Vetrano alias Garaglione olim jug. Ann: 43 cr."[2]

Nimpha Venezia, daughter of qm Maestro Giuseppe Venezia and Calogera [Scaduto], married first, at Sciacca (Quartiere San Michele), 22 September 1672, by Reverendo Sacerdote Don Vincenzo Planeta Capp.ni, Paulum Gulotta of Terre Ste Marg.te [Santa Margherita di Belice] et habita huis civitas Sacce, son of Sebastiano Gulotta and Giuseppa Bilella. The witnesses were Francesco Scaduto alias Cira and Antonino Mazza et Postea.[3]

Children by first husband Paolo Gulotta, baptized in San Michele parish, Sciacca, Provincia di Girgenti, Kingdom of Sicily:[4]

  • Giovanni Calogero Ignazio Gulotta, b. "heri sero," 29 7bre (Sept.) 1673; bap. 30 7bre (Sept.) 1673; sponsors were Clerico Giuseppe Bentivegna and Vincenza uxor Giuseppe Gino.
  • Giuseppe Calogero Luigi Gulotta, b. "heri mane," 21 June 1675; bap. 22 June 1675; sponsors were Calogero Giannalia and Spina uxor Antonio Frixia.

Nimpha Venezia, reli: qda Paoli Gulotta, married second, at Sciacca (Quartiere San Michele), 8 February 1682, by Reverendo Sacerdote Don Giuseppe Purcacianti Capp.ni, Michaelem Vitrano, son of Giacomo Vitrano alias Parpaglione and qm Angela [Failla]. The witnesses were Diego Cimè and Vito Bono.[5]

Michele Antonino Vincenzo Vitrano was born at Sciacca, "precedente nocte," 14 8bre (October) 1653, daughter of Giacomo Vetrano and Angela [Failla], and was baptized in Matrice parish, 15 8bre (October) 1653; her sponsors were Giovanni Antonino Sanfilippo and Caterina Marotta.[6] Michael Vetrano alias Gargaglione was buried in Matrice cemetry, Sciacca, 22 Xbre (December) 1698, aged about 43: "Michael Vetrano alias Gargaglione ann: 43 c.r."[7]
