Biography

Giuseppe di Venetia was baptized in Matrice parish, Sciacca, Provincia di Girgenti, Kingdom of Sicily, 23 August 1608, son of M.ro Francesco Venezia and Alpha [Quartararo]; his sponsors were Pietro Calandrino and Agata Toto.[1] Mag.ro Joseph Venezia was buried on the grounds of San Domenico Church, Sciacca, 9 January 1669, aged about 62: "Mag.ro Joseph Venezia ann: 62 circiter."[2]

Joseph Venetia, son of qm Francesco Venezia and Alpha [Quartararo], married at Sciacca (Quartiere San Michele), 7 January 1652, by Reverendo Sacerdote Don Vincenzo Vento Capp.ni, Calogera Scaduto, daughter of qm Pietro Scaduto and Anna [Indelicato]. The witnesses were Giuseppe Tauro and Gregorio Indelicato.[3]

(Giuseppa) Calogera Scaduto was born at Sciacca, "hodie," 19 March 1634, daughter of Pietro Scaduto and Anna [Indelicato], and was baptized in San Michele parish, 19 March 1634; her sponsors were Antonino Sabella and Onofria Idili.[4]

Caetano Venetia, son of qm Giuseppe Venezia and Calogera [Scaduto], m. Sciacca (Quartiere San Vito), 22 April 1686, by Reverendo Sacerdote Don Carlo Bivona Capp.ni, Josepham Cannova, dau. of Antonino Cannova and qm Anna. The witnesses were Not.o Stefano Baccimeo and Don Vito Zarzana.
  4. Stefano Pietro Tommaso Venezia, b. "hoc nocte," 20 Xbre (Dec.) 1660; bap. San Michele, 20 Xbre (Dec.) 1660; sponsors were M.ro Diego and Caterina Marsala.
  5. Francesco Tommaso le Venezia, b. "hoc mane," 20 Xbre (Dec.) 1664; bap. San Michele, 20 Xbre (Dec.) 1664; sponsors were M.ro Francesco Mancuso and Maria uxor M.ro Pietro Giuffrida.
