She married James Costin on September 18, 1928 in Elora, Wellington County, Ontario, Canada and together they had the following children:

MRS. JAMES COSTIN. By Record Correspondent. ELORA, Nov 22 — The sudden death of Mrs. James Costin of Elora, nee Bertha Walser, occurred yesterday at her home as the result of a blood clot on the lung. Deceased was 38. She was born in Elmira in 1908. Her parents are Magdalina Wagner and the late Joseph E. Walser of Elora who died in 1942. She was married in Elora, Sept 18, 1928, and attended St. Mary's R.C. Church here. Mrs. Costin was also a member of the Catholic Women's League. Surviving are her husband, her mother, six sons: Neil 14, Carol 12, Blair 9, Jackie 8, Gerald 7, and Robert 3 1/2; one daughter Colleen 15; three brothers, Harry and Edward, of Elora and Pte. Victor Walser, now overseas with the R.C.A.M.C.; and four sisters, Mrs. Martin (Hilda) Hauck of Pilkington Township, Mrs. Joseph (Marce) Strub, Mrs. Charles (Margaret) McKenna and Miss Edith Walser, all of Elora. Public funeral service will be held on Friday, Nov 24, at 10 o'clock with a requiem high mass at St Mary's R.C. Church in Elora. Rev V. M. Shea, the pastor, will officiate.
