Biography

Elmer was born 28 Jun 1902 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was the son of John Didolph Wannebo and Emma Theoline Holte.[1]

In 1905 he was living in Minneapolis, Ward Number: 09, Hennepin, Minnesota.[2] The household included John Wannebo age 29, Emma Wannebo age 26, Viola Wannebo age 5 and Elmer Wannebo age 2.

In 1920 he was living in Minneapolis Ward 9, Hennepin, Minnesota.[3] The household included John Wannebo age 44 born in Norway, wife Emma Wannebo age 41 born in Wisconsin, daughter Viola Wannebo age 20 born in Wisconsin and son Elmer Wannebo age 17 born in Minnesota. John was a laborer in a warehouse. Elmer was a fireman in a tire factory.

Elva Leona Hayes and Elmer Didolph Wannebo were married 4 Nov 1925 in Anoka, Anoka, Minnesota.[4][5]

In April 1930 he was living in Marysville, Wright, Minnesota.[6] The household included Elmer Wannebo age 27, wife Elva Wannebo age 23, daughter Shirly Wannebo age 3 and daughter Doris Wannebo age 4 months, all born in Minnesota. Elmer was a laborer laying culvert.

In April 1940 he was living in Marysville Township, Wright, Minnesota.[7] The household included Elmer Wannebo age 37, wife Elva Wannebo age 33, daughter Shirley M Wannebo age 13, daughter Doris A Wannebo age 10, son James Wannebo age 7, son Richard A Wannebo age 4, son Arnold L Wannebo age 2 and daughter Emma L Wannebo age 6 months, all born in Minnesota. Elmer was superintendent of a WPA program for road and bridge construction. George J Hayes lived next door.

He registered for the World War II draft 15 Feb 1942 in Buffalo, Wright, Minnesota.[8] He was employed by the US Post Office.

He was postmaster in Buffalo, Wright, Minnesota.[9]

He died 6 Nov 1983.[10][11]

He is buried in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota.[12]
