" SKEVINGTON, CHARLES EDWARD, Farmer, Waikuku. Mr. Skevington was born in Bedfordshire, England, in 1859, and accompanied his parents to the colony, where he was brought up to country life. He engages in mixed farming, and is a member of the Northern Agricultural and Pastoral Association. Mr. Skevington was married, in 1884, to a daughter of the late Mr. R. Whitaker, of London, and has two sons and two daughters."

DEATH OF MRS C. E. SKEVINGTON.

The many friends of Mrs Skevington, wife of Mr C. E. Skevington, of "Holmleigh," Waikuku, will be grieved to hear of her sudden death.

Mrs Skevington died vesterday afternoon as the result of injuries sustained in an accident on Thursday.

About five o'clock on Thursday afternoon Mrs Skevington was driving home, and when going through the gateway leading to the house, the horse took fright and, in swerving, the dog-cart struck a poplar tree, throwing Mrs Skevington to the ground. She fractured her ribs and was seriously hurt internally. To-day an inquest will be held.
