Henry was captain of the Pond Company of the Florida and Warwick Regiment (Colonel Hathorn) commission issued September 22, 1775. He was made major February 28, 1776, and lieutenant-colonel February 19, 1778.
He was a member of the state legislature from 1776 to 1782 and had the title of general.
Henry made a will on December 19, 1807. It was probated June 13, 1812. It mentions his wife Susannah; his sons Richard, Jeffery, John Henry, William, and Gabriel; his daughters Susannah Raynor, Ann, wife of Joseph Houston, Abigail Owen, Mary Bartholf (Henry Bartholf is mentioned, but no relationship stated); and the children of his deceased brother William: Phebe, wife of Andrew Houston, Nancy Wisner, William Wisner, John Wisner.
Henry died on 28 May 1812 in Warwick, Orange aged 69.

This appeared in a letter from the War Department in 1936 related to John, Sarah, and Henry Wisner:
Henry applied for a military pension on 4 Sep 1851 that might have been due his mother, Sarah, on account of his father's service in the American Revolutionary War. The claim was not allowed as proof of six months service was not furnished in accordance with the requirements of the pension law.[2]
This is contrary to Henry's date of death, so the letter writer made a mistake in some way.
