Biography

John was born in 1737, the son of John Wisner Sr and Anna Jayne.

John married Mary Thompson ( - 1788)[1] in 1767. Their children were:[1]

While living at Mount Eve in Warwick, Orange, New York, John entered the military service early in the American Revolutionary War. John Wisner, Jr. was elected a captain in the Florida and Warwick Company belonging to the regiment of Orange County Minute Men on October 13, 1775. He served as Captain in Colonel John Hathorn's regiment in the New York troops, served at different periods throughout the war, and was in the battles of White Plains and Morrisania, but length of service was not given.

John married Sarah Hall (~1755 - 1842) in Mar 1789 in Warwick, Orange, New York, United States.[1] Their children were:[1]

Study of John started with Sarah (Wisner) Eastman (1777 - 1862)[2]. Based on dates and the Voss Letter, this Sarah does not appear to be the daughter of this John Wisner contrary to her Find A Grave listing.
