Charles Wycherley was christened on 18 Jan 1826 at the church of St Mary the Virgin in Prescot, Lancashire. He was the son of John and Sarah Wycherley. His father was a mason, and the family's address was Rainhill.
By June 6th 1841, Charles was an apprentice screw plate maker (in the watch tool making trade), in Eccleston, Lancashire, in the household of Joseph Orford, who was a screw plate maker. The household also included Joseph's wife and his two young sons.
Charles died in 1846, aged 21, in Prescot district.

Confusingly, there was also another Charles Wycherley very close in age to him but born in Wem, Shropshire, who moved to Prescot and lived there much of his life.
