oh, thanks for explaining about your sources from your personal library, Anne X. Now I understand.

Cheryl

Hi Anne, it looks like that Arnold genealogy source you put on Isaac Arnold’s profile, citation number 5, might be a different Arnold family. There is no record of Isaac’s family in New England other than himself.

I have seen one paper signed Isaac Arnold and bros. Have not seen any of the brothers mentioned in either volume of Southold Town Records. Isaac was related to the Sylvesters of Shelter Island.

Glad I could help with a possible relative. He's not a relative of mine, I'm just interested in the history of my local area on this side of the pond

Ann, I notice you've added some references to a George Way in New England These can't refer to the George Way of the profile as they ate dated 8 years after his will gained probate. His will was written on 30th Sept and probated on 3rd Dec 1641 so there is no doubt about is death between those dates. I transcribed the will from the original and the full transcript is linked to from the citation.

Thanks Anne X. Do you have a link for that Southold record you commented on - profile Dickerson-96 ?

I'd like to see it for myself and possibly add it to the biography.

Thanks.

Arnold-129 is finished, no more additions needed. A lot of work was done on this profile by the New Netherlands project, that’s why it is now protected. Nothing more to discuss.

If they were married it would have been in either Massachusetts or Rhode Island. Mary was from the Salem area. Since you posted Mary Arnold Horton’s information I assumed you were convinced she was Isaac’s daughter. make a decision please.

Anne, there is evidence that Isaac first married Mary Youngs and had a daughter Mary. If you now believe it was a different Isaac Arnold please show the source and I will remove Mary Arnold Horton from this profile.

Anne, ok then the source is a private copy of the document.

Why did you remove Mary Youngs, are you saying they were never married? What about his first daughter, should she be detached also? The profile is project protected, part of the New Netherlands project, so someone may ask.

Anne could you please add the source for the information you added to the Isaac Arnold profile? Thanks.

Ok thanks Anne. I haven’t found one either.

Thanks for your message. If you mean Isaac Arnold, born 1641, he was born in New Haven or Long Island. I have never seen anything about him being anywhere other than New York. His son, Isaac born 1700 may have travelled to Virginia. A source and more information about Mary is needed, I found her information on Ancestry.com.
