Biography

Maria was a daughter of Robert Yates and his wife Jannetje (Van Ness) Yates. She was born 19 October 1768 and baptized on 23 October 1768 in the Reformed Dutch Church of Albany, New York. Joseph and Maria Yates witnessed the baptism.^[1]

An earlier daughter of Robert Yates and Jannetje Van Esch was also named Maria; apparently she died in infancy.^[2]

Maria Yates married James Fairlie.
