I have been researching and documenting my family ancestry (Surnames including OBST; MACNAMARA AND ANDERSON and linking with GEHRIG and BARRON for the past twelve (12) months, i.e. March 2023 and found it to be very challenging, however very intriguing and exciting to discover such a wonderful family history. That being happiness, grief, tragedy or confusing. I intend searching as far back as possible to a point of satisfactory personal closure.

Biography

I am a person with a very keen interest in putting together the history of his ancestry on both paternal and maternal sectors. Born in Australia during the early 1950's a great deal of information was never disclosed and or withheld for various circumstances. As a direct descendant of (to my knowledge) Johann Friedrich Obst (b. 1743) from Lower Silesia, Prussia I wanted to assure myself that my ancestry line was correct on the paternal side, after having completed and documented the history of my late Mother Patricia (Macnamara/Anderson).

G'day Brian,

I have noticed the extra information you added to the Prussian Settlement page.

There's a page and category for the Patel https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:Heerjeebhoy_Rustomjee_Patel%2C_Arrived_18_Sep_1845.

I am also very interested in your 3rd great grandfather, JH Luhrs (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Luehrs-35). There's a comment that he migrated as missionary to Western Australia which I would like to add to. That is very unusual, is it something you know about and can add to the profile?

Thanks for that detailed information Steve. In my researching and putting to pen I have not gone into third parties of my ancestry as all would have been far too exhaustive and time consuming for me. Had I have gone along that line I would be still going. Regards, Brian O

We are all volunteers. I appreciate any time that anyone can contribute - before exhaustion.

Without extra pressure. My comment really was that if can add extra information, then it makes it easier for someone else to add to the story. Cheers, Steve.

G'day Brian,

You might be familiar the country near Freeling. Or may be not.

If you do not know I add information. It is very rich farming land. You can see the country. It was the setting for the TV show "McLeod's Daughters" .

I don't like the description of "Out back" Australia when it is so close to Adelaide. Out side country is beyond the Goyder Line. My brother still holds a lease for https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Old_Koomooloo

Another of my family was born near Mount Disappointment. Then I can agree with the description "Out back"

Hello Brian,

Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s very important to read and understand the Help:Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.

Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.
