The Van Wert surname currently has many variations. My family name came from Van Woert which was a shortening of Schoenderwoerdt, the name of the town from which Teunis and Rutger, sons of Jacob, emigrated to New Amsterdam in 1640. I'm interested in all descendants of Teunis until the surname ends. I do want to include spouses and children of that next non-VW generation in hopes of helping others find their way into that tree.
