18th Massachusetts Bay Provincial Regiment

The 18th Massachusetts Bay Provincial Regiment was commanded by Colonel Ephraim Doolittle, who left the service in October 1775. Command of the regiment passed to its next senior officer, Lieutenant Colonel Benjamin Holden, of Princeton. In August 1775, Doolittle's Regiment was designated "The 24th Regiment of Foot." It served in the Siege of Boston until its disbandment, and was part of the force under Col. William Prescott at the Battle of Bunker Hill.
