Beech Springs, Mississippi, March 1st, 1880

Mr. E. S. Jones

Dear Brother,

I this day write you a few lines which will inform you that we are all enjoying very good health and am in hopes yourself and family are enjoying the same blessing.

Enclosed you will find the sum of $27.30 which is the balance due you by Thomas McKee on land note the face of the calles for $96.00, first payment $40 in 1877, second payment $25.00 1879 and eleven ($11) dollars which he paid for tax on your land.

You will please make the deed to the land and send up as soon as you can.

I also send you $13.10 for rent on your land cultivated by Paul Jones that is what your part of the cotton sold for. Your part of the corn I had to sell on credit for 75 cents which amounts to $14.00 next January. I would have sent your money some time ago but I have been for an answer from you for a letter written a good while back, now please to write to me as soon as you get this.

Your friend and Brother

John McKee
