Daniel Cleary : Life Membership of NSW Nurses Association

Dan was a lifelong union member and believed that nurses must care for their patients but employers also must care for their employees. For many years Dan served as a branch official and also on the Council of the New South Wales Nurses Association. His service was recognised with the granting of life membership a decade after his retirement.

The signatories on the certificate are particularly noteworthy. Patricia Staunton later became a parliamentarian, then Chief Magistrate in NSW, and Judge in the Industrial Court of NSW. Debra Picone was later to become Director-General of the NSW Health Department.
