Eagle Ford, Dallas, Texas was at one time a small farming community southwest of Dallas, Texas, located on the southern bank of the Trinity River. Some of the first families to settle in this area were the Horton's, Cockrell's and Lacey's. This once bustling community was compromised mainly of families once associated with the desolved utopian French, Swiss and Belgian colony of La Reunion. There are very few traces left of this town but one can find them if they know where and what to look for. The main road through town once known as Eagle Ford Road was renamed Singleton Rd, After John Singleton. More can be learned about this long gone and forgotten town at the Wikipedia and Handbook Of Texas links below.
