Lunenburg was one of the original counties established in Nova Scotia Colony in 1759. (Find it on a map!)
It was reduced in 1762, when Queens County was established, and remained virtually unchanged until 1867, when the country of Canada was formed.
It currently encompasses the Gold River, New Ross and Pennal Reserves, the municipalities of Chester and Lunenburg, the towns of Bridgewater, Lunenburg and Mahone Bay, and various unincorporated communities.
Please use the lowest level category available. If you don't see a category for a community in the above list, this category (Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia Colony) would be appropriate.
