"Midwifery is a health profession that deals with pregnancy, childbirth, (including care of the newborn), besides reproductive health of women throughout their lives.

In the mountains in the 1800s midwifery is also known as a Midwife; In addition to providing care to women during pregnancy and birth, some midwives also "could bleed, pull teeth, blister, etc.
