Rockford Business College was founded in 1862. In 1877 it became known as Becker's Business College. In 1892 it was acquired by Brown’s Business College.
Brown's Business College was a chain of business colleges located in the midwestern United States, started in Illinois in the 1870s by George W. Brown (1845-1918) of Jacksonville, Illinois.
It was renamed Rockford School of Business in 1942. It is now Rockford Career College.
In most obituaries it is referred to as Brown’s Business College or Rockford Business College.
