Mill on a "boiling spring." Joseph Wells and his son Joseph Wells Junior set up a water-powered sawmill and furniture making operation in the North Carolina Piedmont circa 1750. It is a subject of research to determine whether there was also a mill on the Boyling Spring property in Maryland, where they lived for a short time before purchasing a virgin forest.
