England project please help connect Indigenous ANZAC to his English forebears

Hi as part of the proposed Black History Month connection finder profiles for the week of February 3rd 2021 I have started connecting Indigenous ANZAC, Christopher Wilson Carter (1887-1917).

I have his Carter line back to his grandfather, Robert  Carter (1819-1886)born in England, but the details I have for him are too vague to go any further with such a common name.

His father's mother's line is back to great grandfather, Edward  Warrener (1791-1874), born and died in Strensall, Yorkshire. Someone who is familiar with this area and has access to paid sources might be able to take this line further. There is a potential connection to William  Warrener (1750-1825) early Wesleyan preacher to be discovered.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I found the census records, and have created Robert's father, Christopher Carter b abt 1789 at Kirby Wiske, Yorkshire. I have found the probable baptism for his mother at Sand Hutton, Yorkshire. The spelling of her surname on the baptism record is Anakin. The more common spelling seems to be Annakin. Also it looks like another brother Christopher might have also gone to Victoria. Gillian

Hi Mary, the death index is pretty informatiive. It gives his parents as Christopher Carter and Sarah Annikin. Also he was 68 when he died. It also looks like they had some other children, so it may also be an option to connect him up in Australia.

I adopted the soldier's profile last week to spruce up the bio and connect him. I'll work on it tonight.
Hi Leandra. In case you missed it, I've listed the siblings in a separate answer.
Thanks Jim.

Thanks Gillian

It is identifying the right Christopher Carter in England that is the problem. I have not been able to find anything for Sarah Annikin either, I wonder if it is misspelled? Annakin has over 30 profiles.

FS has 3 different transcriptions but one of them has Annakin.

"England Marriages, 1538–1973 ", database, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:NV86-V4H : 13 March 2020), Christopher Carter, 1812.

Annikin even. Don't Wikitree in an decaffeinated state!

Definitely Annikin is very likely to be an incorrect spelling (but it is a clue to the approximate name). The names of parents on death records are notoriously unreliable, so they are really just useful as pointers, as is the age at death.

Reviewing Edward Warrener of 1791, all Census records suggest he was born in Gillamoor, Yorkshire (Kirbymoorside) as opposed to Strensall, although Strensall was where he lived for many years & died.

He first married Jane Creasor in 1813, Wigginton near York. Jane died in 1847, whereupon Edward remarried Mary? (marriage not found)

Jane, who married Robert Carter was baptised in Wigginton 1827, whilst her brother John baptised Wiggonton 1834.
