The British Aristocrats used to be a sub-project of European Aristocrats, however it is (as far as I'm aware) being dissolved and so the profiles that formerly came under British Ariso are now under EuroAristo. The British Isles may not be part of the European Union from a political perspective, but geographically and genetically the British Aristos are European and so there's nothing wrong with this re-assignment.

Thanks Amelia, also, the sticker still states that "XXXX was a member of the aristocracy in British Isles" it's just the link underlying the "member of the aristocracy" which now points to the European Aristocrats project.
You are quite correct however my understanding is that all Scottish aristocrats now fall within the Scotland Project rather than the European Aristocrats Project. I certainly won't be rushing to remove or change the stickers on any of the profiles I manage as other use of my time on Wikitree is far more productive.
That's like saying that the Queen of England is a European Queen, the British Army is a European army, British Womens Institutes are  European Womens Institutes, British Bulldogs are European Bulldogs etc etc.

Of course the British Aristocracy are British, not European. They are people of noble birth holding hereditary titles and office in Britain. They are part of the British Class system, not a pan-European one.
This isn't a political decision, Joe. The BritAristo project has been dissolved because the majority of countries in the British Isles have independent projects which are willing to take on the management of their own aristocrats where it's believed to be necessary, and BritAristo had in that form become redundant.

The profiles which are not currently managed by other areas are being transferred to EuroAristo because BritAristo was one of its sub-projects, not for any sort of political statement.

Besides, as John rightly pointed out, that is not the overall point of this thread. The sticker in question still states that "xxx was a member of the aristocracy in the British Isles", it just merely links back to the EuroAristo project instead of the BritAristo one because for all intents and purposes, the BritAristo one no longer exists.
@Joe, this how all members of aristocracy in Europe are treated. Danish royalty gets the EuroAristo sticker. French royalty gets the EuroAristo sticker. Perhaps more to the point, Norwegian royalty gets the same EuroAristo sticker, and Norway is not part of the EEC. ...

There isn't a British Aristocrats project anymore. See here:

https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/1159597/the-european-aristocrats-project-has-been-reorganized?show=1159597#q1159597

I'm sure members of the project can elaborate.

But "British" aristocrats/nobles/whatever, aren't European. cheeky

Yes they are.  They are European (no matter how loudly they deny it).  That isn't the same as being in the EU.  There are plenty of countries in Europe that are not part of the EU.
Besides, there is much more intermarriage between the British aristocracy and the Continental aristocracy than people think.
I'm one  who would loudly yell that I am in no way European.  I am Gondwanalandian!

I didn't realise you were that old Melanie wink

Older than dirt, John.  Older than dirt.  cheeky
