We just completed the Clan Murray Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Denver, Colorado this past weekend. It was the first Colorado Scottish Festival in three years, and people were excited about getting out and seeing what it was about. We had over two dozen visitors from other states, as well, hanging around our tent.

We have a full season of monthly festivals in Colorado, beginning in April with Tartan Day and ending in September with ScotFest in beautiful Estes Park. We have a few smaller festivals thrown in, but this weekend was the "Denver Metro" festival.

As U.S. Genealogist for Clan Murray, I always have a fist-full of business cards to hand out as I talk to people. I talked to more folks this weekend and referred them on to Wikitree than ever this year. I think some may even be excited enough to join. I will follow up with everyone who filled out our sign-up sheet and urge them again to "take Wikitree for a test drive."

I'm convinced if we can get them to try it, they'll like it. It's an easy sell once they decide they can really be successful in their research.

I agree. I'm the Colorado Convener for Clan MacCallum/Malcolm Society. We'll be in Estes Park again this year. I do try to hook them with the genealogy bug and mention WikiTree. Come by and say hello.

We'll be there Saturday only, but I'll try to find you. I've seen your tent at other festivals, but never stopped by. Don't get out much to wander when the people start coming by our tent! See you then....

Michael, Peter Robbins here, Ive been reading your posts and they are extremely helpful. We are also trying to verify George Robbins birthplace and parents.

We are able to confirm his (GG++) Grandfather John Robyns b. 1391 England through the Robbins Family DNA Project.

However George still seems to be an enigma at this point.

Best regards, Peter R.

Michael, thank you for your involvement in Scottish events and for getting to know those participating in the events.  It is so good you work to inspire interest in WikiTree.  Your story is such an encouragement to see how we can expand interest in genealogy.  Thanks for your efforts!!

I just want to give a big Thank You for your work and to everyone else spreading the knowledge and importance of family history as well as genetic integrity...along with demonstrating the fun side of things and how interacting with even one site like WikiTree can give the sense of belonging; especially to those of us who may not know / have known biological family prior to getting involved! I hope that makes sense - I know it was quite the run-on sentence!
