Longstreet-103 is connected to the wrong father

Question

Longstreet-103 is the daughter of LANGESTRAET-23 but as it cannot be edited, Richard Dirck Derrick Langestraet - WikiTree Profile has been created and Longstreet-103 lists her as his dauther and not the daughter of the 1696 Dirck (Langestraat-10).   I have proposed a merge to properly bring her into the sites.  She is also listed as unsourced New Netherlands Project which may have an effect on why the merge does not occur

Hi Jamie. Thank you for trying to address the issue. But...sorry to have to tell you this...deliberately creating a duplicate is not the right thing to do. See

which lists the only two cases, very rare, where this is permitted. Neither applies here.

Why do you say LANGESTRAET-23 cannot be edited? It has Open privacy, and is post-1700. But even so a good approach would be to communicate with the profile manager and discuss possible solutions.
