Are you going to RootsTech 2024?

Question

Hi All!  I have been off-line for the past year dealing with breast cancer (surgery, chemo and radiation.) I am excited to say that I will be done with radiation before Christmas and celebrating a cancer free New Years!  

It has been a long time since I was on WikiTree and I feel like I am starting as a newbee.  Who is going to RootsTech 2024 in Salt Lake City?  I am thinking about making the trip.  Kitty Cooper-1 Smith

So good to hear from you. Sorry to hear you've been unwell but delighted to hear you'll be celebrating a cancer-free new year! Sadly the trip to SLC is too much for me these days but wanted to say hi!

Kitty welcome back. So sorry to hear what you have gone through. Prayers. A friend of mine is just beginning the process. Surgery hear soon, fortunately just a lumpectomy. But followed with chemo.

I will be attending Roots Tech virtually but I wanted to say welcome back to WikiTree, Kitty! I am so glad to hear you are done with the surgery, chemo and radiation! I hope 2024 is a healthy, happy year!!

Yes if you have the health and can make it I recommend you go and enjoy anything you can and as much as you desire. Celebrate and have fun.

Since you have been gone for a while, a fun thing I took part in this year was the Profile Improvement Voyage https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Profile_Improvement_Project_Voyage. I thought I knew a lot but came to find out so many changes, new apps, etc. I have had so much fun learning how to do the profiles so they mean something. I still have a lot to learn. I have no plans for Rootstech.  I have too many animals at home to easily get away to anywhere.  But my mother went through all that 10 years ago, she is now 91 with arthritic knees as her biggest obstacle.  Best wishes for you on your healing journey as you get to return to other, less scary and more satisfying, interests.
