Reusing sources in different parts of the bio

Question

I was not able to find the answer in the help section, so am turning to G2G. Is there a way to reuse the same in-line source footnote in different places in the biography? I want to try to find a way to use the same source for multiple facts in to bio without repeating the source a number of times...unless that's the best practice.

Yes, you give the source a name. For example, <ref name='SourceName'>Source Citation</ref> Then when you want to use the same source, you just reference the name <ref name='SourceName'/>

You can name your source whatever you want. The name is case sensitive. Each source needs to have a unique name and must contain text, not just numbers.

Yes there is and it is in help.

from memory it is

<ref name=xxxx> insert reference/source</ref>   for the first time, then for the repeat(s) <ref name=xxxx/>,

help states to put "xxxx" put posts on G2G say use of "   " is no longer required.

The quotation marks are recommended in any case, and required if the name xxx contains a space character.
