Hi, My Seaton branch traces it's roots through George Seaton (1754-1841) who served in the Revolutionary war around 1777. He was the first Seaton who purchased what we call our ancestral farm in Breckinridge County KY before 1832. I believe he is buried in the Seaton Cemetary with illegible headstones with his wife, William K Seaton, his wife , and as many as 4 others. James Reeder Seaton is a known ancestor. I actually have more work in my tree in familysearch and ancestry.com, but didn't want to "rejoin" Ancestry.
Any information you can provide on George Seaton (1754-1841) and or William K Seaton would be helpful. I noticed in George's will (from 1837, filed in 1841) that he had a daughter (Margaret) who married John Miller. The Sinking Creek/Hardin Creek Seaton cemetery was also known as "Seaton-Miller" Cemetery. This provides support to a Margaret who married a John Miller. The cemetery is semi-unknown in Breckenridge County KY records, although I found information online that show it was "cleaned" in 1986. I remember Uncle Bill and a few others who said they cleaned it up around that time.
I'm working trying to "refind" that cemetery and trace the farm/land to current owners. The last Seaton (William Seaton, my cousin Bill) who lived on this farm just died in 2023, so "memory" information is getting harder to find.
I didn't focus heavily on details of those I have created in my WikiTree history....just enough to identify males from myself back to William Kinnel (Kenner) Seaton. But I will fill in more information back to George and his father Captain James from Facquier County VA.
It's difficult to keep all the James's and Georges straight.
Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide.
