Where and when was William Hynd born, husband of Marjorie Ford

Question

William Hynd was married in Dundee, Angus, Scotland on 6 Jun 1827, at which time William's occupation was Weaver.  On 6 Dec 1830, William's occupation was Bookseller, from the Birth record for their son James.  Both of these facts come from the Old Parish Register records, from Scotland's People, and I am as sure as I can be that they are the right records.  However, I can find no reliable Birth or Death records for William in the Old Parish Register, and I can't continue to follow my Hynd family line back before William without these records.  Any help would be much appreciated.

I found this and some other birth records by taking the information in your question  and entering it at familysearch.org , a free site. You wouid be a better judge of which birth  record is most correct if you want to try that resource.

Hi Frank!  Thanks for taking the time to answer this question.  I am not sure about this one - I have been following the John Hynd / Marian Williamson family for another Hynd family tree, and can't find the connection between John and Marian and my William, who was in Dundee, across the River Tay from Fie, where the other Hynd family came from.  Without all the detail that started to appear in the official records from 1855 onwards, it is very difficult to be sure that one has the right person, using just Old Parish Records, that have virtually no detail.  Census records didn't start until 1841, by which time Marjorie is apparently widowed.
