Jean Antoine Charlebois is my 6th great grandfather. He was a soldier when he went to New France where he met and marrried Martha Perrier dit La Fleur i on 15th November 1686 in Montreal. Five generations later, Adelaide Charlebois, daughter of Antoine Charlebois and Marie Angelique Proulx married Julius Barlow on 12 January, 1818, at St Genevieve, Pierrefonds, Quebec. They settled back in the United Sates.

I have not added all of my Charlebois ancestors to my tree because I need to confirm the validity of the information.I know that Charlebois is a very large family in Canada and I hope to clarify some of my information about them. My original information came many years ago from Don Charlebois at the Rand  Genealogy Club an early internet site and from another Charlebois family member in Canada whose name I have lost.

My DNA test indicates that  I am 14% French.
