John Schalcosky is the creator of the "Odd, Mysterious, and Fascinating History of Pittsburgh," a popular and unique social media account founded in 2014[1]. Schalcosky investigates the most extraordinary, enigmatic, and forgotten tales of Western Pennsylvania.

Banker/Bancker/Bancken = Scandinavian (especially Norway): variant of Bakke, with the addition of the definite article -n. One of the most frequent surnames in Norway.
Colangelo = Italian: from a compound of the personal names Cola + Angelo. Short form of Nicola and Angelo, Latin "Angelus", from Greek angelos ‘messenger’, ‘angel’.
Cox = Irish (Ulster): mistranslation of Mac Con Coille (‘son of Cú Choille’, a personal name meaning hound of the wood), as if formed with coileach ‘cock’, ‘rooster’.
