Charlotte Louise Baker. Born 20 FEB 1943 Terre Haute, Vigo Co., Indiana, USA. She is the daughter of Weldon Nicholas Baker and Emma Charlotte Walker.
Charlotte Louise Dolan, or Charlou as she's nicknamed, is a American author with a masters degree in German and has lived at such widely diverse locations as Taiwan, Austria, Canada and the former Soviet Union. She's at present living in Idaho, USA. Unfortunately, due to health issues, Dolan has retired from writing.
Drawing strongly on her Cornish background, Dolan populated her novels with characters sharing names and history with her ancestors. For instance, Digory Rendel, the hero of The Counterfeit Gentleman, got his name from Dolan's umpth grandfather Digory Baker and his ancestress Honor Rendel. Here's what Dolan says about her books:
"Incidentally, all my romance novels are now out-of-print, but you can still find them occasionally in used book stores. The following is the information you need if you want to try to get them on-line somewhere. They are NOT historical romances, which focus on passion; they are Regency romances, which are more like Jane Austen's novels -- squeaky clean, full of humor, side characters, subplots, and written in college English. They are definitely 'G' rating, with some 'PG' because of violence (which is NOT graphic)."[1][2][3]
I have been doing genealogy for 35 years or so. By "doing genealogy" I mean spending 8-16 hours per day on it, 6-7 days per week. The Family History Library in Salt Lake City used to be my second home, but now I am disabled and unable to go to libraries, courthouses, and cemeteries like I used to. Fortunately, more and more records are coming on line. To me, documentation is the most important thing -- especially documentation that proves the link between one generation and the next. My biggest project has been participating in the Snodgrass one-name-study. For several years I was the editor of The Mace, the journal of the Snodgrass Clan Society. Now that Society has been disbanded because of the death of the last editor, but I am still working on collecting every Snodgrass record from around the world. And I love to share. I have thousands of pages of Snodgrass information, typed up and organized, and James Gardiner has just helped me load them all onto WikiTree. Feel free to use the information to build your own Snodgrass family trees. You should be able to highlight parts of the source books and move them to the profiles of your ancestors and other relatives. If you have trouble, you'll have to contact James Gardiner because I'm still not very good at navigating around WikiTree.[4]

Just wanted to say thanks for all your work on these Source books and records. I've known of *a* Snodgrass ancestor for a long time but couldn't find much about him anywhere. I have a direction now! :)
