Biography

William was born in 1796 in Downton, Wiltshire.

William was part of the Downton, Wiltshire Emigrants group that left for Quebec aboard the King William on April 7, 1836. He emigrated with his wife and three children plus three step-sons by his wife Sarah Hunt Poore. ^{[1] [2]}

The Downton Mass Exodus of which William, Sarah and the older children were a part is well described in The Downton Story.

William died about 1852.
