William Blamey was born in New South Wales, Australia
William Edward Murray Blamey was born on February 28, 1902 in Lake Albert, New South Wales, Australia, son of Richard Henwood Blamey (1875–1933) and Isabel Frances Cumming (1875–1906).[1]
William (26) married Lillian May Bellyse (29) (born on August 3, 1898 in Balmain, Colony of New South Wales; daughter of John Burgess Bellyse (1856-1942) and Mary (Leo) Bellyse) on June 23, 1928 in Ashfield, New South Wales.[2] Their children were:
- Shirley Mary Isabel Blamey (1929–2012)
- Maureen Therese Blamey (1933–2015)
- Frances Margaret Blamey (1935–1938)
- Marcia Helen Blamey (1937–2001)
- Francis Murray Blamey (1939–2023)
William died in 1971 in Glen Innes, New South Wales, aged 68.[3] He was buried in Glen Innes General Cemetery, Glen Innes, Glen Innes Severn Council, New South Wales.[4]
