Hi there Richard, glad to see someone interested in the Cheek family. My Cheek line stems from my father’s side. I’m the last living Cheek in my family. My dad passed in 2021 at 86. His name was Ronald G Cheek, his father was John Henry and his father was John Ellis. They all served in the military with John Henry receiving 3 bronze stars. The Cheek family hails from England. I’ve traced back as far as I could but it starts getting a little dicey after my great grandfather. Tabitha Cheek would’ve been my great great grandmother and then I’m lost. Somewhere down the line I believe the Cherokee ancestry kicks in.. just not sure where or with whom.

Thanks, Marti. I also have a copy of Jeff's book. I helped him compile the information on my line. I'm glad to know another person who has interest in the Cheek family.

Welcome to Wikitree Richard,

We are so happy you decided to upgrade to the Family Member level.

Please visit our tutorial pages to learn how to use WikiTree: How To Use WikiTree. They will save you time, energy, and frustration as you add your family profiles.

Exploring the site is the best way to learn. One way to do that is to check out the drop-down menus on the top right side of your profile page. Finding a known ancestor and collaborating with the profile manager is another great way to start.

Questions? You can always use the G2G link in the Help Menu to find answers.

You mentioned that you don’t know much about your family tree yet. I assume you are new to genealogy. No problem! Every genealogist is a beginner at some point. Take your time, keep track of sources, and ask questions. Check here for tips.
