The date/place of birth and parents of Jane Durin are unknown.

Jane married John Elwell on 1 Oct 1667 in Salem, Massachusetts.^[1][2][3][4] They had the following children, the first two born in Salem and the rest born in Gloucester:^[3][5]

• John, b.14 Oct 1668 in Salem, m1.Mary Robinson; m2.Mary Joslyn;
• Jane, b.23 Nov 1671 in Salem;
• Susanna, b.24 Apr 1678 in Gloucester;
• Mary, b.9 Feb 1680, possibly d.25 Mar 1680;
• Christian, b.16 May 1683; m1.William Sampson, m2.James Smith 1712/13;
• Penelope, b. and d.6 Aug 1688.

The likelihood that John and Joan Elwell had two additional daughters whose births were not recorded in Salem or Gloucester is widely acknowledged. It is supposed that the girls were born between 1672-1677. They were:^[6]

• Rachel Elwell, b.abt. 1674, m.Joseph Haskell;
• Elizabeth Elwell, b.abt. 1676, m.John Smith, Jr.

John Elwell was captured by Indians and died in captivity in Feb 1710.^[3] Jane's date and place of death are unknown.

Unsourced parents John Durin and Mary Hooker were detached 17 Mar 2023 until proof of a connection is found.
