When Carl Johann was born on 10 February 1792, in Steinenbronn, Württemberg, his father, Michael Hanselmann, was 28 and his mother, Christina Stäbler, was 25.[1]
He was a farmer. He married Christina Catharina Herzog on 23 April 1817 in Steinenbronn.[2]
They were the parents of at least 7 sons and 4 daughters. He immigrated to Philadelphia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States in 1817 and lived in Cincinnati, Hamilton, Ohio, United States in 1818.
He died on 14 January 1864, in Franklin Township, Brown, Ohio, United States, at the age of 71, and was buried in Arnheim Cemetery, Arnheim, Brown, Ohio, United States.
