Biography

William was born in 1821 in Otsego County, New York, the son of Luther and Betsey (McConick) Lydell and came with the family on their journey to Chautauqua County, New York somewhere around 1830. ^[1]. He was living in Janesville, New York when he married Emily Coe in 1845. ^[2] He was lumbering in Deerfield, Pennsylvania at the time of the 1860 census and was back in Chautauqua County, farming in Carroll in 1860 and in Ellicott in 1870. The 1879 Michigan Atlas (p 57) showed that he had purchased land in Green Township, Mecosta County where he and his family were found on the 1880 census. He died there in 1882. ^[3] and is buried in Parkhill Cemetery in Paris, Michigan.^[4]
