Phinney-1013 and Phinney-39 appear to represent the same person because: Phinney-1013 was created as a working profile for a conflated version of an original: Phinney-38. See the comments on Phinney-1013 that demonstrate that it was originally created to represent the daughter of Thomas Phinney, which is now the profile for Phinney-39. These two profiles should be merged to remove the conflated Phinney-1013.

I disagree. The women have two very different birth and death years.

Also, your draft changes don't make sense either. You suggest she was born 17 years prior to her (unknown) parents' marriage, as shown below:

Ok, so can you supply any actual records to support any of the dates on the Phinney-1013 profile? The 1698 marriage is for her father Thomas Phinney and wife Sarah (Lockwood) as seen here: Barnstable Town Records, Vol. 1:378 (original pagination)

The original profile (Phinney-38) was a conflated mess of nonsense. The "new" profile for Phinney-1013 has zero valid sources and it needs to be merged away.

Why would you merge two profiles showing their birth and death years are a generation apart from each other?

Birth Date 1685-05-08 vs 1704-06-08 Birth Place Barnstable, Barnstable, Massachusetts Death Date 1729-12-17 vs 1779-00-00 Death Place Eastham, Barnstable, Massachusetts, United States

As I wrote, I did NOT create the Phinney-38 profile which was attached to John Moore as his wife.

Using critical thinking skills, anyone can quickly ascertain merging these two profiles is nonsensical based upon a 50 year difference their deaths and a 19 year difference in the births.

I did not create the Phinney-38 profile, or the records attached to "her".

But ignoring these considerable conflicts is unconscionable, in my professional opinion.

Since there are no sources to suggest that any Abigail Phinney, born 1685-1704, married to a John Moore, died 1729-1779, or any of the suggested dates actually existed, the profile Phinney-1013 should be merged away. If we don't merge Phinney-1013 away, who does she represent? From the sources, or lack of them, it appears that Phinney-1013 did not exist. And I do realize that the original Phinney-38 was not of your making! From its inception it was fiction and lacked any valid sources. If we care about accuracy (and we certainly do!), we need to resolve the Phinney-1013 by either merging her into Phinney-39 (the changes log of Phinney-38 shows the same data for the parents, Thomas Phinney & Sarah Lockwood), or into your new Wright profile as the incorrectly identified wife of John Moore.

Barnstable Church records show that the death listed for 1755 was for Thomas Phinney:
"[1755] Nov 30 Thomas Phinney departed this life Æt. 84"

Thanks for the updates to her profile, Karen, that helps somewhat. I'm annoyingly trying to find the primary source that would prove that Abigail, as the daughter of Thomas is the same as the wife of Jonathan. The Mayflower Families silver book on Rogers published in 2000 gives for Abigail, the daughter of Thomas Phinney, only this:
"b. 8 June 1704, n.f.r."

The silver book for Hopkins mentions her once in passing as a mother of Jonathan Linnell who married Rachel Hopkins, but I don't find a source record there for proof of her maiden name, although it does mention the Linnell Genealogy (1994) in passing. It doesn't appear that her parents left any probate records, and I don't see any approved applications in the GSMD database on AmericanAncestors.org (which is not comprehensive). So if the Linnell Genealogy offers some original source record that links daughter to wife, it would be very helpful.

What is the proof, please, that connects the daughter of Thomas Phinney as the wife of Jonathan Linnell? Her father's profile states that after her birth there was no further record, yet here we have her married. Reliable sources please?
