Biography

Anne Rambeau (Rombeau) was born circa 1 Jun 1692, most likely in Isle of Wight County in the Colony of Virginia. She married Needham Bryan I 16 Nov 1711 in Isle of Wight County, prior to the family moving in 1722 to Bertie County in the Colony of North Carolina.[1][2]

Anne and Needham had at least three children:

  • Rachel, 10 Jun 1723 - 1 Nov 1780, married William Whitfield
  • William, 31 Oct 1724 - 1785, married Elizabeth Smith
  • Needham II, 31 Oct 1726 - 1784, married Nancy Smith [3][4]

Anne died circa 16 Jan 1730 in Bertie County in the Colony of North Carolina. She is presumably buried in the Bryan Family Cemetery on land where Snowfield Plantation once stood in Bertie County, NC. [2][5]

? - her Father's wikitree record shows he was born & died in France. How was she born in Virginia? Her Findagrave page has her born in North Carolina?
Is this son linked on their Findagrave page correct? He has the same birthyear as the record for David?

Bryan Book: http://www.bmgen.com/document/pdf/Bryan_Book.pdf

Page 73 - has good info on Needham & Anne & children. Are the 9 children listed on Anne's record correct? Notes on this record and this doc. say at least 3 children/ 3 children??? Info. from FamilySearch has 12 children. Ancestry.com has 8 kids with Anne and 1 with Sarah Woodward. (I know they are not always accurate) Needham & Anne are my 7th Great Grandparents so I want it to be right.

Rombeau-1 and Rambeau-22 appear to represent the same person because: Same name, same birth date and place, same husband, same death place.

I cannot find any documentation for Hannah Bryan who was born before her mother Anne Rombeau. Any one have any ideas???

Also, I am having a hard time Believing that Alice Needham is Anne's mother. I am leaning towards Antoinette Souailhat b 1678 d 1732. Any one have any thought on this????
