Lenora Sarah Richmond was born on 19 April 1873 in the town of Toledo, Lucas County, Ohio. She was the third of six children born to Lester Jerome Richmond Richmond-849 and Mary Ann Dalgleish Dalgleish-86. Her brothers and sisters include: Elmer A. Richmond Richmond-4665, Frank E. Richmond Richmond-4666, Mamie Elsie Richmond Richmond-4667, Victoria C. Richmond Richmond-4668 and Robert C. Richmond Richmond-4669.
Her name appears in the 1880 [1], 1900 [2], 1910 [3], 1920[4] , and 1930 [5] U.S. Federal Census reports.
In the 1880 and 1890 Census’, she is recorded simply as Nora. She is listed as Elnare in the 1910 census, and Lenora for the last two reports. The U.S. Federal Census report for 1880 indicates that Lenora, her mother and two brothers were living with her mother’s brother, Peter Dalgleish, in Penfield, Lorain County, Ohio. That same census also seems to indicate that Lenora’s father, Lester Richmond, was residing and/or working on a farm owned by wife’s uncle, Peter Denham. They were all living in Penfield, Lorain County, Ohio at the time.
Sarah Lenora “Nora” Richmond officially married Walter E. Hull on 16 February 1889, in Lorain County, Ohio[6]. He was 19 and she was 16. They were married by J.W. Wegnant. They spent their entire married life in Ohio. Together, they had six children: Dorothy Belle Hull Bliss Hull-1644, Elverta Mildred Hull Buswell Hull-6148, Grover Gleason Hull Hull-6149, Harold H. Hull Hull-1641, Tressa M. Hull Sassmanhauesen Hull-1642 and Dewey Donald Hull Hull-1639.
Nora Hull was living in Huntington, Lorain County, Ohio, with her husband and all six of their children when the 1900 Census was taken. Sometime within the next ten years, the family moved to Westfield, Medina County. The census for that year shows her living with her husband and the four youngest children. The family moved back to Lorain County, to Elyria, in time for the next census report. Only Grover, the youngest child, was still living at home. The final census report of 1930 includes just her and her husband, indicating that his children had all moved out by then. Nora and Walter were still living in Elyria at the time.
She died on 10 April 1932, while living in Elyria, Lorain County, Ohio. Lenora and her husband Walter are buried in a joint plot in Ridgelawn Cemetery, Elyria, Lorain County, Ohio [7]. [8]
