Hi Wayne,

I was wondering if you could look at a probate for me. Charles Turner mentions a black woman, Silas Burgess in his will. I haven't found his inventory, so not sure of her relationship to him. He wills that his estate supports her and that he is bound to maintain her. Have you run across a black woman named Silas Burgess in your research? Thanks for checking it out. I did add Slaveholder categories to Charles Turner, and not sure if he should be categorized as one or not. Link to the will: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QS7-897D-6CVS Karen Cooper

Hi, Karen -

I am not home, but I will check when I return to my computer tonight.

In the meantime, cross-reference SILENCE BURGESS, perhaps in the Scituate, MA spreadsheet I shared.

Maybe she’s in Hingham or Marshfield; I can’t remember, but I am familiar with this name.

I didn’t even think that the name Silas was Silence!! When she married she was of Scituate.

Hi Wayne, I saw your post about Revolutionary War soldiers and see you are documenting slavery in Massachusetts. Thank you for your contributions! If you haven't already seen it, here is our Heritage Exchange portal with links to the help pages on how we document slavery at the US Black Heritage Project: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:US_Black_Heritage:_Heritage_Exchange_Portal

Howdy Wayne,

Please see my comment on Esther (Samson) Prince profile. Her maiden name is Freeman, and I see you used her mother's maiden name for LNAB. Esther already has a profile Esther (Freeman) Prince. Please add me to her trusted list so I can merge them. Thank you, Cheri

Hello, Wayne,

Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s very important to read and understand the Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.

Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.

Hi, Wayne,

I hope you're enjoying learning about WikiTree!

Unlike a lot of websites, when you receive messages on WikiTree, you're actually hearing from a real person. :-)

Please leave messages from the Greeters Project with the New Member How To's on your profile for at least a month, so that other Greeters know that you've been properly welcomed. Let me know if you have questions.

See you in the branches!
