Biography
Adeline was born in 1858. Her first marriage was to William D Scarborough on January 31, 1878 in Chilton, Alabama. [1] On the 1880 Census she is shown living with William Scarborough, a daughter from that union, Fanny E., and four of William's Scarborough's brothers in Chilton, Alabama. [2] In total, find a grave lists five children from the union of Addie and William Scarborough (Fanny Evelyn, Pallie Ann, William Cleve, Nezzie E., and Issac Benjamin). After her first husband died in 1890; she married William Webster DeVaughn on December 16th of 1894. [3] Addie had a daughter, Laura Belle, in 1896; and her son, Sanford Marion Devaughn in December of 1897 from her marriage to William Webster DeVaughn. [4]She passed away in 1934 and is buried in Poplar Springs Cemetery in Chilton County, Alabama. [5]
An unconfirmed note at Find A Grave notates the following: "Adeline Manerva "Addie" Vinson was the daughter of Isaac W. Vinson and Nancy Ellafair Price. Addie first marriage was to William David Scarbrough. Addie's second marriage was to William Webster DeVaughn on the 16 Dec 1894 in Chilton Co., AL: Addie was the granddaughter of James L. Price and Martha Ann Tabitha Ray."
