Communication Preferences: I am interested in communicating private message with anyone who shares the same genealogical or historical interests. Here is my family tree.
I was born and raised in Monroe, Louisiana. I am very interested in genealogy and helping others discover their family history. My family history may seem a bit confusing to some. My biological parents are Wanda Shivers and Jimmy Collinson. When I was four my stepfather; Ronald Randy Reeves legally adopted me and my siblings and because he raised me; he is listed as my father on my profile but I am actively researching the Collinson side of my family as well.

Beth, Excellent information on Dr. Samuel Prosser and his brother John H.'s family after John's death. Thank you.

Thanks so much for posting material on descendants of Lewis Littlepage Holladay-368, (1803- abt 1869). I am trying to sort out the Holladays of colonial Virginia who came from Gloucester, England about 1700.

Incidentally, I see we are distant cousins through the Bondurant family - my Huguenot ancestors. They came to Virginia around 1700 and lived in Manakintown, near Richmond. Jay Holladay, Pasadena CA

Hi Jay, it is always nice to meet a distant cousin! I hope that you are doing well! I had noticed when doing research for Mary that her fathers' profile did not have any sources listed. I plan to search for sources for him and see what can be found and add them to his profile. If I stumble across anything that may be helpful to you, I will be sure to post it. I hope you have a great week!

Beth, thank you for the documentation of William Burt and Mary Lofton! They were my GG Grandparents through Trisvan >Thomas Decatur Burt who I barely remember (he shot himself when I was about 6). William’s parents are our brick wall. My Uncle Roffie Burt is the most thorough researcher but he is 84 now and does not use the internet any more.

Hi there, a friend of mine asked me to do some research on the Bowlin family and that led me to the Burt family. I think it would be wonderful if we could verify who William's parents are, but I think if your Uncle Roffie couldn't find the information we need that I probably won't be able to either. Some trees on ancestry hint that his father must be John Isaac Burt (through DNA connections) but I have very little knowledge of DNA and have not seen anything definitive yet. Maybe we will stumble across something that provides the missing link. I hope you are doing well!

Hello,

I give my approval for the merge of the Mary (Smith) Loftons but can you resolve the birth and death dates first? Thanks, Bettie

Hello Beth,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Pre-1700 ancestors can be shared by many descendants, so collaboration is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

The United States Project may fit your research focus. If not, use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find other possibilities. Review the project page to learn about resources and guidelines as well as how to collaborate with the project members.

Have questions? Ask in the comments section of my profile.

Remember to cite reliable sources in pre-1700 profiles you manage, or edit. (See: Pre-1700 Reliable Sources).
