When Isaac Newton Waggoner was born on September 11, 1761, in Fairfield, South Carolina, his father, Hans, was 44 and his mother, Ann, was 20. He married Emsey Holeyfield in 1785 in South Carolina. They went by wagon to Illinois with their family group of 21 people in 1827. They were among the first settlers in Moultrie County. They had 14 children in 30 years. He died on August 24, 1838, in Moultrie, Illinois, having lived a long life of 76 years, and was buried there. [1]
