Which desktop genealogy program do you think is best?

I currently use RootsMagic 7, which has some really nice features. The Publisher, a built-in application, has the ability to produce awesome custom reports, with multiple chapters of narratives and charts, with all the features you would expect in a book.

RootsMagic 8 has just become available, and is a complete re-work of the program. I have not yet upgraded to it, but it promises to ge amazing.

Thankyou George.  I am not a computer whizz but look for good reports.  I was once a Family Tree Maker fan and wondered if this was still good ?

I use primarily Legacy and I also use Rootsmagic and Family Historian all have their good and bad points, I find Legacy is the one I use the most

I use Family Tree Maker 2019 for Mac, and I'm very happy with it.

I use Reunion for Mac (version 13) by Leister Productions.  They also have an iPhone/iPad app called ReunionTouch which I use.

The company (and programmers) are very responsive in trying to solve any problems you may have.

I use Family Tree Maker 2019 for Windows and don't have any problems with it. I synchronise my tree with one on Ancestry and this works very well for me. (It seems to work best when you have a "clean" tree. Fixing items highlighted by the error reports can help). FaceBook has an active Family Tree Maker Users Group with extensive help documents and "best practices" suggestions.

I use MacFamilyTree .   I like the fact that it gives free space to publish my tree to net and that tree can be password protected.  They also have a version for iphone or ipad.   They are very responsive whenever I've had a question or problem.
