What evidence is there for the parentage of Henry Awbrey?

William "the Extravagant" Awbrey had a son Harry (per his will), and it has been assumed that this was the same as the Henry Awbrey who emigrated to Virginia.  If this is correct, then Henry Awbrey appears to have a Magna Carta ancestry on his mother's side.  However, this lineage isn't recognized in Douglas Richardson's Magna Carta Ancestry.  Is there enough circumstantial evidence to keep it here at WikiTree?  (The same question goes for Henry's brother John Aubrey-134.)

This is an old thread from a group of serious medieval researchers.  If you do a page search for "extravagant," you will the find discussion of the family of William the Extravant and his presumed children who came to Virginia.

This website seems to have further snippets of evidence tying the Awbrey family of Virginia to the family of William the Extravagant.

John - I'm still working on improving the profiles to support Henry & John as gateway ancestors through their mother. But, yes. They may not be in Richardson, but I believe enough evidence exists to support the relationships - that their mother was Elizabeth Johnes, who was daughter of Thomas Johnes, son of Henry Johnes & his wife Elizabeth Herbert, who are both descendants of Magna Carta surety barons.

Cheers,
Liz

p.s. trail for Elizabeth Herbert is pretty much done:

Elizabeth Herbert is the daughter of Mathew Herbert and Mary (Gamage) Herbert.

Mathew's mother, Elizabeth Berkeley, is a descendant of Magna Carta surety barons Saher de Quincy and John FitzRobert. Her profile has been sourced and edited to meet the standards of the Magna Carta project. Her mother's profile Elizabeth (Neville) Berkeley - was submitted for review as part of a Magna Carta trail (for Fisher) on May 2, 2015 (see the project's Base Camp and suggested lines pages).

I'm inclined to agree that the Awbrey connection is worth keeping, with an "uncertain" tag to keep people looking for better evidence.
yay! so... what's the next step? How do I go about getting Henry and John from being in the "Questionable Gateway Ancestor" category to having their Magna Carta trail up for review?

Well, first of all I want to thoroughly study the links I posted at the beginning of this thread! cheeky  Then I'll be inclined to help polish the profile, and perhaps other MC types can lend a hand.  Sounds like a project for this weekend... I suspect that the Awbreys and one or two others are ready to elevate from "questionable" to "uncertain," but I'm just one voice.

An excellent summary of the evidence that Henry Awbrey and brothers John and Thomas of Virginia were sons of William ("the Extravagant") Awbrey of Wales is here: http://www.genealogy.com/forum/surnames/topics/awbrey/205/
