Need help on Robert Holden who was sent by the King of England to America as Tax Collector.  Robert received a land grant land, place not known, but was in the Yadkin Valley in 1800.  He had at least 3 sons, one name Joseph known.  Jospeh traveled with Daniel Boone with a Mr. Finley on at least two times.  Joseph had 3 known sons names, Thomas, Jack, and Jeff.  Jospeh leaves the Yadkins Valley because of a deed error and moved to Marian CO NC.

Do you have any more specifics, such as in what state was Yadkin Valley located? Would you have a birth year and county or city in England where he was born? There were over 200 men named Robert Holden who were born or christened in England. Would you know his wife's name or his parents names?
Yadkin Valley was in Yadkin CO NC.  Robert was born 1665 England died 1718 Yadkin CO NC.  Robert arrived in American in 1678.  He was Tax Collector & Collector of Customs Feb 1684 in Albemarle CO NC.  Albemarle ceased in 1689.  Robert received 200 acres (I can not find where).  He surveyed to separate North and South Carolina (year not known).  He moved to Yadking Valley NC in 1707 and killed by Indians in 1718.

I only know the name of 1 son, Jospeh.  It is stated that Robert sent 3 sons to MA to deliver a letter and on this trip the sons met Daniel Boone.  Daniel persuaded them to come to the Yadkin Valley to a settlement he was forming called the "Bryon Settlement".

Joseph accompained Daniel on one of his Kentucky trips and on a second trip Joseph's 3 sons, Jack, Thomas and Jeff accompained on this trip.  Jack was killed by Indians as was one of Daniel's sons.

Interesting history. You wrote about Robert Holden that ... He moved to Yadking Valley NC in 1787... I assume you probably meant to say 1687.

Thanks for cathing my error.  He moved in1707.
