Looking for Jinsey Blake's (Blake-3096) mother. Supposedly she is Cherokee, (1775-1836) [closed]

Very unlikely there is a Cherokee connection.  Mecklenburg County is in the middle of Virginia, nowhere near any Cherokee lands.   The Cherokee did not live in Virginia.   If Jinsey was Native American she would have been from a Virginia or North Carolina tribe.

That area of Virginia/North Carolina was populated by Catawba Indians; they had been almost wiped out by 1760.
Actually there were Cherokee in South Western Virginia in that time period.

However, you don't see a lot of last names unless the child was a product of a Native and European parent mix.  Charles Blake was likely European or of European descent.  

If someone has done MtDNA on this line and can show Native American heritage that might help.
