Samuel Beaman was born in North Carolina and migrated west to Owen County, Indiana with his son, James, Samuel Jr and Alvin in about 1824. They first settled in Morgan Township and located on a parcel of land claimed and sold to John Carter in 1830.[1]
1830 Census: Samuel and Briant Beaman listed consecutively on p 282, Owen County, Indiana census. His household had the following members:
Note: 1 male, John seems to be missing and the ages of Samuel and Alvin seem to be younger than expected.
