Jerusha Bigelow was born on March 8, 1749 in Colchester, New London, Connecticut, and baptized there on April 23, 1749.[1] She was the daughter of Isaac Bigelow and Abigail (Skinner) Bigelow.[2] She moved with her New England Planter parents to Cornwallis Township, Kings, Nova Scotia in 1764.[3] She married Andrew Newcomb in Cornwallis on December 4, 1766.[4] Her death date is undocumented - it is sometimes given as December 1766 in New Brunswick, but given that she had several children after that date it is likely that this is a confusion with her marriage date. Her last child was born in January 1785, so it must have been after that date.[5]
